Hi everyone, this is truly odd and I'd like to hear if I'm the only one to whom this is happening.

Since I moved from Snow Leopard (on an old MBP) to Catalina first and then Mojave (on this iMac), it truly feels like someone is controlling my machine, although that's definitely not the case. Here are 4 things that keep happening for no reason.

1) Mail pops up spontaneously without being summoned and even if there are no new messages. It just happened now as I was typing here, there's no way I could click on it.
2) Finder windows are moved between desktops (I use 4 desktops through that function of which I can't recall the name, but basically it's the one where you change virtual desktop by hitting Cmd-arrow left or right)
3) Files I download disappear after I open them. Gone!
4) Files don't appear in searches even after a few days, although I can find them manually
5) Play/Pause key (F8) will sometimes send instructions to YouTube, sometimes to iTunes, sometimes to none or both at the same time. And this seems to happen randomly
6) When I pick a piece of software through Cmb-Tab, sometimes the menu at the top will switch to that, showing, say "Firefox". But nothing else will change, i.e., I'll still be seeing the software I'm currently using, until I click with the mouse over the software icon. Only then, that software will be chosen. I used to switch to other software only by using Cmd-Tab, has this changed?

And many more.

[Rant follows]
There are many more, and I can't really understand what is going on. This happened with Catalina before I decided do """""downgrade""""" (Catalina was a torture) to Mojave, and all the problems persisted even after I wiped the system to install Mojave.

I've been using Mac since 2007, and my previous machines were all rock solid, reliable, and their operation was silky smooth. Did they change the way Mac "thinks" to make it more similar to a fricking iPhone? If so, does anyone have some sort of manual that explains what new abort-- err, features they pushed into the system, so that I can somehow learn their new way of thinking?

You can easily guess how these minor problems interrupting my flow at all time are frustrating, unnerving, as I use my Mac massively for work, and being interrupted during an already stressful task is like being slapped at random intervals by someone you can't see.

Thanks in advance!
