iPhone Random Contacts Grayed Out When Creating Shortucts

So, I am trying to use the "canned" speed dial shortcut available in the gallery.

When I install it, and then start adding phone numbers, random contacts of mine are grayed out and it won't let me select them.

Anyone know why this happens?
