For some reason recently, I noticed that there is a random hard drive in my finder window. It is called "Untitled DVD" and if I click on it in any way it says that it cannot be found. it also doesn't show up on my desktop. I have no idea where this came from. Any ideas to get rid of it?

i get that problem sometimes after burning disk images using 'disk utility'. just eject the "DVD" and you should be fine.

I had something like that this past summer, on my PowerBook. It went away after I restarted the machine. It interrupted my uptime but the phantom disk image went away.

You mean the actualy disk? I ejected it right away and it didn't work

Ok I will try that, thanks for your help.

I've had this happen before. I would try to eject it but that wouldn't work. I also tried disk utility, but that would lock up upon opening. Finally, I relaunched Finder and that solved the problem.
