Just saw this when signing up a friend for gmail. How do they expect me to see those letters?

It's readable, but barely. That's why a lot of sites offer an option to regenerate the code. It's highly unlikely you'll get two or three in a row that are truly indecipherable.
 
That's a good one. Maybe they want you to just mash on the keys a bit? I also like the ones you can read, but when you enter the code as shown they say you did it wrong.
 
Some of these verification thing's I've seen have an option for the letters to be sounded out, is that what the little disabled badge is for? But yeah, that really is a bit extreme. Luck of the draw I guess.

"Bookworms" is what it says. I can see why it's a little hard to read, but it only takes 5 seconds...:confused:

Definitely doesn't say bookworms. Where's the 's' at the end? and there's an 'r' between the 'b' and first 'o'.

Looking at it again I think snberk103 is right.
