So I have this MBP in my signature. Its been running kinda slow since it got it. I know its a C2D but I run a similar chip at my work computer in a Mac Pro that doesn't feel as slow as this. It takes a while to open PS files that arent that large and sometimes its a bit choppy at scrolling or responding.

anyway so its opening a PS file and it basically stops responding, keys finder cursor everything, next thing i know its i get a blue screen as if the computer is restarting and it takes me to the login window, but the computer didn't restart, no logo screen or chime. Any clues?

Me too

This happens to me too.

Sometimes (far too often) when I leave my computer, I come back and it's at the login screen. Other times it will do exactly as you described: visually "wig out" then white and blue and fade to login screen like it was just booted up.

[EDIT:] It's also sometimes/often preceded by a spinning beach ball of dooooom.

Does anyone have any input/ideas/comments at all?

Thanks!
