Random question about Calendar icon

I've never really stayed up long enough to see this, but does the Calendar icon in the Dock animate when the clock hits midnight?

Just change the clock temporarily through System Preferences to 11:59:55 PM and watch the dock for a few seconds. You'll find that the answer is no, the number on the icon simply changes.
