I got an original unibody MBP (2008). For about a year and a half now I have had random screen tears/flickers.
The tears are like when your at a movie theater, think of the random black lines that flicker across the screen caused by smudges/scratches on the film.
I notice this problem all over, from using VLC, browsing the internet (chrome, firefox and safari) or just using the desktop.
So I have apple care, and I brought it in, but the guy was really stupid (EXACTLY like that South Park episode with the geniuses) and I couldn't reproduce the problem, because it is happening randomly. Some days I see it 1 time, others I see it 20 times. The tears/flickers just happen for a split second.
How can I get this fixed under my Apple Care, it runs out in Nov. and I want it fixed before then. I was thinking of just calling them, and shipping it directly into Apple so I can avoid the "geniuses" at the retail stores.
I read and found some other people that had problems with the logic boards, and had their computers replaced, which is kinda what I hope happens for me. Lemme know your ideas or if you've experienced it.
