Random shutdowns, hot and unresponsive (intermittent)

XS Max running 13.1.2.
Only a couple of months old.
Just started randomly getting really hot, becoming somewhat or totally unresponsive and restarting.

I’ve tried deleting new apps and looking for anything unusual but am coming up blank.

Try restoring the firmware through iTunes, which might help. otherwise, since your iPhone is new, it might still be under warranty, so go to apple support and see what they can do.
