My iMac G5 is just out of nowhere going into sleep mode, for no reason at all. When I start it up it only does 3/4 of the chime and turns back off after the fans go crazy. Then if I leave it for a while, then turn it back on, it starts up fine, and runs fine for a while, then all the sudden it just stops and goes to sleep. Could someone please help?! Would re-installing Tiger fix it? Or should I do something else not so drastic? Thanks.

The problem was overheating. I think it's due to the fact that we have had the air conditioning off the last few days, because we had our house painted, and the windows where open, and I live in Texas so everything was hot. It works fine now that it's all cooled off and stuff.
