I have noticed that in the past few weeks, some songs that I have on my ipod touch freeze at 0:00 and then skip to the next track. This happens with apparently random tracks.

I have restored the ipod to default settings, first using a backup and the setting up as a new device, but neither have resolved the problem.

The songs play fine on my pc in itunes, and play fine on my iphone.

Also just worked out that if a song doest play as part of an album, if you select individual songs they do play.

Does anyone have any idea what may be the problem?

Thanks

Have you checked to see if the songs that won't play are in a different format?

The songs were purchased through itunes so I imagine they are all in the same format.

Could you possibly be shaking the iPod when the tracks skip? I know there is a setting called 'shake to shuffle' or something like that. When I'm listening to music and I accidentally shake my iPod in some way the song skips to the next track.
