Like many others I preordered my iPad Pro on Wednesday and was greeted with an "available in store" option. This blew me away! The announcement had said Wednesday preorder, and Friday in stores. So many complainers are ignoring that Apple surprised us here and over delivered on the iPad Pro release. Unfortunately, that's where my positives end. :(

1. When I went to the Apple store that day at 10 am employees admitted that "This was just dropped on us, no one is prepared for this." No iPad Pros on display, and confusion on what was available and when. I have never seen such confusion on Apple employees face personally. The sales rep I talked to referred to "Angela" personally and said things have been a mess since she came on board.
2. No pencil or keyboard. Now...come on Apple. Even if this was known, why not just announce this? Why surprise all of us AND your own employees? I stress again how even the employees have no idea whats going on with this launch.
3. iPad pro size is different in person than perception. After holding it for about a 20 minute period my left wrist literally began to ache. And the size makes something as simple as using your thumb to allow things to work a pain. Its just not what I personally thought it would be. (My fault)
4. The icon setup is honestly dumb. You add all this real estate and you still limit the amount of icons and more to what the iPhone and other devices have? This literally confused me. I even went into settings assuming I would find an option. Nope.
5. Tim keeps saying PC replacement...Not a chance in hell. The ONLY way is if you literally do nothing but consume. Like my grandma would be a great candidate for this. BUT, she wouldn't pay this much for a device! I am from the camp that this is simply a bigger iPad with better sound.

I could go on and on, but this is just my random thoughts right now. I am considering returning this, cancelling my pencil order, and grabbing a Air 2 and a watch for still cheaper...

I think we're going to hear a lot of opinions like yours in the future. The iPad pro wasn't designed to consume content like the regular iPads are, it was designed for artists to draw and paint.

Does the nature of the pencil tech overlap into note taking and other use cases? Sure it does but make no mistake, this unwieldy beast was engineered to draw. If you don't draw than this beast may be a bit much.

I do agree with your point about the limit on apps per home page, there is a ginormous amount of space between app icons. They could increase the app count per page without increasing clutter easily.

Random thought... why the Apple pencil in white only? - wouldn't a gold pencil look better with the gold ipad pro , or a space grey pencil with it's counterpart? Lord Ives must be awol at the fashion shows..

Available at Apple stores in US because every other retailer was putting it on sale Wednesday so they had no choice (unless they wanted to lose sales that is).

The employees not being up to speed I was told most fend for themselves anyway and need to make it their business to know about a product. As far as most here, we knew it was coming out the 11th due to very strong credible sources so why didn't they?????? Maybe some of them shouldn't even be working there attested by dealings I have had with some of them in the past.

It is what I see Samsung reps do in BB as well, they are always going online to get up to speed with a product over and above any training.

I agree, it's strange that the keyboard only comes in gray and the pen only white, seems there should be a gray/black and white for both.
