Hi all,

Yes, I'm new here, but I'm posting since I figured this was the best place to come for help. I'm running Tiger still (unfortunately), 10.4.11 on a Macbook Pro 3,1 (so, not the newest model, but the one before it). I've always had strange quirks with this computer, but sometimes they're indicative of a larger problem, so I'm coming to you guys with this...and I'm a little worried, although it's probably nothing.

A strange white box continues to apear on my desktop. I'm including a picture of it. I use Stickies regularly, and seeing as they don't have a "white" color option, I don't believe it has anything to do with the program. The problem is, I don't know what it has to do with, or how I can get rid of it. If anyone has any ideas, thank you; I apologize if this is an easily fixed problem and I have wasted your time.

Thank you for any and all help,
Luna

Can you type in or otherwise select this box? Is there any pattern to what makes it come and go?

I agree, it looks like a Sticky of sorts, without the small box in the upper left.

EDIT: Like your desktop, BTW.

I can't type in the box. I can't really do anything with the box. It's a strange entity that just sits on my desktop. And I have my mac set to change the wallpaper every 15 minutes, yet the box will remain there. I have not figured out a pattern, if there is one yet. It just seemingly randomly appears, and has been doing so for the past week. I'm timing it right now to try and keep track.

And thank you. I believe I got it on DeviantArt.

edit: Apologies, I have figured it out. Whenever I edit my notes in iCal, for some reason, a white box will appear on my desktop as long as I am in the editing box. The size correlates with the size of my notes box. Although I'm still wondering if this is normal, I am no longer worried. Thanks to Tomorrow for helping.

white box

I seem to get this white box in Acrobat. It seems that the application effected will have the white box in front of whatever document you are working on. Quit the application that you notice this happening with and restart.
