Ever since I've upgraded to Lion, programs have randomly been losing sound. It doesn't seem to matter which program I use and the only way to fix the problem is by quitting and relaunching the program. Meanwhile I can still hear the "plop" sound the volume slider makes when I change the volume.
So far this has been happening with the following programs: Starcraft 2, Spotify, Left4Dead, World of Warcraft. (I haven't noticed iTunes suffering from this problem, but I rarely use it since I have a Spotify subscription)
When this problem occurs, all active programs seem to lose the ability to make sound (and restarting those programs is the only way to fix the problem)
Ran Disk Utility to repair permissions, Console doesn't seem to show anything out of the ordinary, except the lines I found below:
