Randomly Lost Support for NTSF Drives

Today my external hard drive and my Windows partition stopped writing. Yesterday they worked fine. I'm running NTSF-3G and it does not even recognize the drives. My Windows partition will not show up anymore on my Mac side and came up with a read error upon restarting.

Disk Utility recognizes the drives but will not let me verify or repair.

Another bit of info.. the external hard drive is partitioned, one side is HFS+ for Time Machine and is working fine.

What has gone wrong?

Time Machine doesn't work with FAT32. It only works with HFS+.

If you select an NTFS or FAT-formatted disk, Time Machine prompts you to reformat the disk. Choose a different disk or reformat the disk in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format.
