Hi All,

I just moved into a new house and set up my router. The entire house gets pretty good signal except our bedroom (which is the furthest room away from the router....a DLink 868L with Dual Band A/C). I'm looking to boost the signal in hte bedroom so that I can actually surf the web in bed from our portable devices (iphone and iPad) and also stream to Apple TV.

Would a range extender be better than a repeater?

My router is located on the 1st floor....my office is on the 2nd floor directly above the router and gets a perfect signal. My concern is that connecting a repeater will degrade the signal i get in my office by cutting it in half.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what device to use to extend the range of my router? I know extenders end up setting up a new wireless network in your house...which can be a pain for portable devices.

Best thing to do is use wired connections between wireless access points. Run a cable from your dlink to a good location and put an Airport express there or some other access point.
