If this is a Mac Web site, then why do a large number of threads seem to be about Windows Vista, Bill Gates, the Zune, the Zune phone, or why OS X is better than Vista? So many of them seem to be downright inappropriate to the theme of this place.

Honestly people, can we just let it rest? There seem to be plenty of Apple related things to discuss and speculate upon.

If I wanted to read about Vista, Zune, or Bill Gates, I could read about them on any number of other Web sites. I didn't come here to read about them.

There are people who use both Macs and Windows machines (I'm one of them), and could find them useful.

Of course that's the reason.

I like to read the rants, if they're amusing. Now and then I even contribute.

Windoze sucks. Jobs is the Saviour. I <3 OS X.;)

Point the first:

This is the Internet. Where you find a large and generally anonymous human population you are likely to find non-sequitirs (we're monads, not monastic). I would love your help as we work out our issues re: overcoming reason and the Enlightenment despite being post-Kantian.

Point the second:

I can now run Windows on my Mac. Well, not on my Mac, but on yours, probably ...

People can discuss whatever they like, There are no rules on what a person can post here. Ok there are rules but you can post anything non insulting.

Since when?
I just clarified. What I mean is if someone wants to talk about Windows there are no rules against it.

This is a Mac Related site, but there are other areas where a vast amount of things can be discussed including Windows. That is what makes this place different is that it is such an open community.

Of course people can post about MS topics here. I am simply saying that I think that many of those posts detract from the site, especially the ones that just contain petty bickering between the MS and Apple camps. But, that's just my opinion.

Yeah - what The Dude said - plus I think people like it here. :apple: :apple: :apple:

It doesn't have to do with Windows working on Macs, because this has been going on since before Boot Camp. This has nothing to do with people needing both a Mac and a PC in their lives.

People start threads about MS and MS products because they know people here want to poke fun at their expense, and then tell us how superior our product is. Even in threads that are started to ask questions about Office (for example), people chime in just to say "I use OpenOffice. It's great!" Yeah.....as if we give a toss. It's completely unrelated. However, what do you expect from a Mac message board?

We have had petty bickering between people who only use Apple computers. :D

Microsoft and Apple are both part of the larger computer industry. They'll likely always be a part of the news and at each other's throats, virtually.

I'm glad to see that people are able to share information on Windows now, to share a point of view not well heard here. Hopefully, it will break the barrier between the two camps and create a better understanding.

It's all positive that I can see.

Well past time for a "Poll: MR Member Most Likely to Go Nuts" thread.

And yes, there are rules on what you can post here.

Just try posting a new porn, pyramid scheme, free crap, or a site advertisement thread.

We hate those so much, we ban those people. ;)
