Hi all,

I want to delete the Apple Security Update iOS 16.4 (a)(20E7752230f) from my iPhone 14 Plus. Unfortunately I'm running into this error all the time and can't figure out why? Any ideas? It takes a while to get this message, phone says it's "preparing removal" and then the error shows up. I've already uninstalled all profiles from my phone, as I thought this might prevent the removal- but still, i'm getting the error.

Thanks,

I've just tried removing it on my iPhone 13 and it worked fine. Aside from the usual restarting your device, a iOS reset or re-install might be the only option.

Just out of interest, why do you want to remove the update?

So i fully resetted the phone and I've been unsuccessful to uninstall the Security Update, still getting the same error. But thanks for your idea @Helmsley. The reason why i want to uninstall the update is simple: it seems that my phone has changed it behaviour after this update has been installed. I assume that something has caused an error because all of the sudden the phone started to restart suddenly and the battery is draining a lot faster. I did not install any new apps, as this is a work phone which is mainly used for email, calendar and some calls. So the last thing which has been installed was this security update.

If it's a work phone from your company it could be managed by MDM which may be preventing you from uninstalling the update.

Also have you checked usage under Battery to see if there is a particular process or app that is possibly draining the battery?
