Raptor vs Software Raid

I have two western digital blacks in raid 0 right now for my fast media drives (i have back ups elsewhere). They are 2 x 1tb

I was looking at freeing up these two drives for storage reasons and replace it with a 1tb WD raptor. Will it be as faster or faster than my current raid?

2xblack in stripe mode is faster than one raptor for transfers and such. 2x raptor in striped mode is faster than the black's. The only time the striped blacks would be slower in software raid (OSX's) is if OSX CPU is overly tasked.
