rar file downloads on the sims 2?

hello,
i have recently switched to the mac version of the sims 2, and so far the only difference i have seen is the mac is faster, BUT i am starting to get irritated when i find a piece of custom content and it is a RAR file! they do not work on macs, and i am wondering if there is any way that i will be able to use RAR files on the game. thank you

You typically have to extract a RAR archive with The Unarchiver or UnRarX and then place the contents in the Sims 2 Downloads folder.
