.rar files, default application

Question:
How do I make "RAR expander" my default program for .rar files?
Or is there another program you would recommend?

Background:
I used "RAR expander" for a long time until I came across a file it was not compatible with. I then downloaded and installed "The Unarchiver" and it worked on the file "RAR expander" would not open.

After that "The Unarchiver" became the default program for .rar files. The problem is that "The Unarchiver" does not work well with password protected files. So for months now I have just manually opened "RAR expander" whenever I try to open a password protected file.

I want to keep both programs so I will be able to open any file, but as I rarely use "The Unarchiver" I would like to have that be the one I have to dig through sub-folders to use. That is, unless there is some excellent program I have not tried.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. I tried it and I like it. Though, I don't know how to make it the default application.

Any ideas?

1. Right-click file
2. Select "Open With..." Select this even if the app you want to use is in the drop-down)
3. Browse and select the program you want to use.
4. Check the box for "Always Open With"
5. Click "OK"

Wow. Thank you very much. It is so obvious now. I kept looking in the applications. I was not looking in the files I was trying to open.

In the past any application that gave me a prompt to use it as the default application was always a huge decision for me. Armed with this knowledge I can click on those prompts willy nilly.

Just in case:

If you want only to unrar archives, then unRarX is enough. But, if you want to make rar archives, I recommend you SimplyRar.

I have the same issue, i still prefer rar expander than any other program to expand and prefer simplyrar to compress, tested speeds and they came up fastest and user friendly. but i am struggling to reset rar expander as default even though i have done the above, trying to set as default, but doesn't work.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

Right click rar file
Get info
Go down to Open with, choose rar expander
Click Change all.
