just curious the proper way of making a .rar file work??? cant seem to do it. i know how to do it on windows just never had to on my mac til now...

You mean, how to expand this archive? I'm using StuffIt 12 Deluxe, does pretty much formats, including rar.

I am kind of curious as to if there's a program to use with .rar files that will take advantage of the 4 cores in my system though.

Well to give some insight to what I'm trying to do is I have a movie that was sent to me in a .rar so yea. I think I have of unzipped but now quiktime needs a plugin to make it work...oh joy

Perian and Flip4Mac together will let you play all possible video in QT

Exactly. Allowing quicktime to playback any media type is a much neater approach.

VLC does support the Apple Remote.
