In all honesty I would rather have my early 90's LC-475, than a DELL or a Compaq/HP or a Gateway.

Never forget that you pay a premium from shops and stores that have large overheads (apple centres included.) These overheads include professional staff, location, floor space, number of staff etc… RAM/hard drives/cables/games/graphics cards, cost much more from the apple centre, because of these overheads. One can’t help but think that these extra costs are also paid for buy an increase in the cost of the apples or the DELL’s or the HP’s themselves.
