Rather weird Safari download problem....

Here goes....

This problem started suddenly about 3 days ago for reason unbeknownst to me, hence me being here.....anyways....I cannot download a file by left clicking it. When clicking the link, it always takes me back to the website where the download link is. However, if I right click, it's fine.

I'm on 10.5.5, latest version of Safari, Santa Rosa Intel Macbook.

Forgot to add, I've tried repairing permissions, deleting Safari's plist, flushing DNS, deleting caches, with no joy.

Certainly Turned out I had Speed Download installed, but I had deleted the app, so the downloads were being redirected to an app that wasn't there. A proper uninstall solved the problem
