Rattle sound when taking video of bright light?

I was just messing around with some video and I noticed that when the camera is pointed at a bight florescent light you can hear a rattling noise in the audio of the video. Has anyone else noticed this? It ruins the video.
 
looks to be some form of interference. Airplane mode stops the noise. is my phone defective?
