We have been playing around with the new iPhone all day, and have been conducting some internal tests on the processing power of the 3G S CPU, and were quite surprised on what we found and would like to share it with you guys.
It seems like the processing power of the new CPU is alot more than 2x which Apple claims, and is closer to 5x on CPU intensive tasks.
One way we tested this is on our Amy A.I. Chat Robot. Amy's brain is very large, and the iPhone has to process and load into memory a large number of data nodes to create Amy's brain each time our App is launch.
On the iPhone 3G this would take about one minute and 30 seconds. On the iPhone 3G S it takes just 19 seconds!
This means the iPhone 3G S processor is able to load this data 4.7 times faster than the previous iPhone, which is quite amazing.
These new ARM Cortex processors definitely pack a punch to say the least, and we look forward to pushing them to their limits.
