Razer today announced the official launch of Razer PC Remote Play, which is designed to allow Razer PC users to stream their games directly to mobile devices like the iPhone and the iPad.

According to Razer, the platform provides ultra-smooth, high-fidelity gameplay on smartphones and tablets, with support for all iOS-compatible gaming controllers for a PC gaming experience on the go. On the iPad, there's also support for keyboards, mice, and trackpads.

PC users can browse through, configure, and launch PC games from an iPhone or an iPad, as well as customize controls, record and share gameplay, and more. Razer PC Remote Play is able to automatically optimize games to match the maximum resolution and refresh rate of a mobile device without having a fixed aspect ratio.

On an iPhone or an iPad running iOS 18 or iPadOS 18, users will need to install Razer Nexus and Razer PC Remote Play, and on a PC running Windows 11 or later, Remote Play needs to be enabled in Razer Cortex. More information is available on Razer's website.

Try Moonlight. I haven't used it on iPhone more than just messing around but it works great for streaming games to Mac/AppleTV.
I tried it in beta. The funny thing is this is basically SunShine/Apollo under the hood, and their client is basically a wrapper on Moonlight. There are hints of it everywhere on the backend and the connecting screen when connecting your host, and yes, it’s VERY good.

My friend uses this in our weekly online sessions to stream games from his attic PC to the Raspberry Pi under his TV. Works like a charm.

I must say the local streaming works fine on my phone when playing from a local console over WiFi. I can only assume people having trouble with it just have a high-latency wireless connection.

I was going to suggest Sunshine server (on PC) and Moonlight client (on a Mac, iPhone or iPad) but apparently this is based on the Sunshine/Moonlight combo. I can attest that Sunshine/Moonlight combo is absolutely amazing for playing PC games on a Mac - ultra low latency, super fast - as if you're playing the game on your Mac.

Another attest here. Serious Sam 4 has visibly less latency on Sunshine/Moonlight than on Steam streaming. And you can also stream your whole desktop and run gog games or standalones.

Razer's solution says it requires Windows 11 for some reason. Sunshine works just fine with Windows 10.

Plus I stopped touching Razer products when they required logging in to their servers to configure my MOUSE.

I've not had a great experience so far.

My problem is that my Steam Controller is intercepted at the client layer, it's not handled by the server layer, which means my client says "ah, your current software is Moonlight, so I'll load up your Moonlight controller profile" so the profile isn't based on the game I'm playing. What I want is for my Steam Controller to be passed through straight to the server, so the server can say "right, your current software is Stellaris, so I'll load your Stellaris controller profile".

My brother says it works the latter way for him so maybe it's a setting somewhere? :/

I've noticed a couple of things from a quick try
- is it me, or the Razer solution doesn't support HDR? (whereas Sunshine and Apollo do support HDR)
- the Mac client of Moonlight is a far superior experience (in terms of how the mouse pointer works, for starters) compared to using the iPad version of the Razer client on the Mac, I don't see a native Mac Razer client on the App Store, just the iPad app. And I'm afraid Razer isn't interested in developing a native Mac client, even for the future.
- requires creating a RazerID even for local streaming, whereas Sunshine/Moonlight doesn't; speaking of the RazerID, weirdly you can enable 2FA but it won't be asked for login authentication, it will only be asked for changing some security-related account settings, once you're already logged in. Email/username and password is all you need to login into someone's RazerID.

Don’t waste your time with proprietary crap

Sunshine + Moonlight is all you need.
Fast encoding, low latency, super customizable, works on any platform and even supports HDR

Oh, I don't know about that. I use a controller on my playstation and get games that are better with a controller for that platform. I only play mouse/kb games on PCs.

Edit: why are you even trying to play a grand strategy game with a controller? :)

Compared to Sunshine, Apollo adds zero-setup auto-resolution switching like the Razer system, correct?

That’s the point of a Steam Controller - it makes it comfy to play such games on the couch. I’d never do it with a PlayStation or Xbox controller.

As for why, well partly cos the couch is comfier than the desk chair, but mostly cos the cats are more likely to come sit on me on the couch.

Oh you just have your desk set up wrong. I have a space between my keboard and monitor that's wide enough for the cat to sleep in it while I'm at the desk :)

She's helped me discover a lot of new keyboard shortcuts over the years when she really falls asleep and expands over the function keys...

Holding the console like this puts extra weight on your wrists, bad for RSI reasons. In addition your eyes work twice as hard trying to focus on the moving target.

Ah, I have a space between my body and the keyboard where they lie, which is nice and snuggly but not as good as a proper lap snuggle.
