Today my 17 day old, beloved Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE (what a bs name) decided to bite the dust. Not a clue as to why, but she stopped accepting new profile saves on the mouse itself. Since the only reason I had that kind of mouse was to use the LEDs as a temperature monitor while doing heavy tasks, I decided to swap it out where I bought it. The store had none in stock, so I negotiated for a full return and DOUBLED my expenses to "upgrade" to a Razer Basilisk Ultimate. If I wasn't on a 15 minute time crunch to pick a new mouse, I'd have been more careful...... my mouse has NO Mac supported software. I'm sure plenty of you are shaking your heads at me right now lol.
Now, I'm sure that I'll eventually install Windows at some point (for certain software I prefer), but I'm wondering if there's a way I can avoid the "need" to install Synapse 3 to program the mouse. Since it appears that Razer has no desire to support us Mac users, I feel like I gave myself the short end of the stick. I really miss being able to monitor my temps with the LEDs on my mouse. Is it possible I can still do that with this new Basilisk mouse? Or should I just do the walk of shame tomorrow and swap it out for something that's going to natively support macOS?
I'll be looking around for a new mouse in general, just in case, but I genuinely like this mouse and what it offers. Without any configuration, I already prefer it to the Dark Core I just exchanged; so yeah, I'm really having a difficult time trying to figure out the best route for this.
As always, any input is appreciated! Feel free to chip in some DIY fixes, software to try out (USB Overdrive will not install on my computer, likely due to running Big Sur beta), or whatever you've done/know of that works. I can live without the live monitoring of temps if I can simply get the mouse fully configured... though it's definitely a game changer for me if I can monitor my temps.
