Hi all, I wonder if any one can help me.

I've just switched to an iPhone 12 from a Galaxy S10+. All seemed to go smoothly right up until the point I realised I wasn't receiving text messages from certain people.

As it turns out, I think this is down to RCS from the S10+. I put my sim card back into the s10 and what do you know.... messages all started coming through.

I tried to remove RCS using the web tool https://messages.google.com/disable-chat but it fails and says to contact my network operator. That would be Vodafone but they don't have a clue.

I managed to unselect RCS messaging on my s10 and did a factory reset but messages still aren't getting through.

Does anyone know what I can do? I did read it can take 8 days to clear, but im not sure how true that is.

Thanks

If that’s the case… it might be some issues on their end.

For example, I use iPad Pro for iMessages and Android for text message (since iMessages isn’t officially supported). Well, people who I exchange messages with.. have both my email and number under my contact. It can be annoying, but I’m able to control it to a certain extent.

So, allow me to explain… My significant other has an iPhone and when I send her a text message. She’s able to receive my text message, but she will reply back with an iMessage… she has to close the app in order to send me a text message (sometime this helps). Or she reboots her iPhone.

My suggestion… these certain people that you aren’t receiving a text from. Perhaps, deleting the messaging thread could help. But if you are doing everything on your end.. there needs to be something done on their end.

Did you have your SIM installed when you disabled RCS?

Make sure you disable in Samsung Messages and Google Messages or any messaging app that has "chat" or "advanced chat" features.

Unfortunately this is something that needs to be done prior to putting the SIM into a new phone. I've read it could take up to 8 days to fix itself....

I just went ahead and put the sim in the iPhone without consideration of RCS. I have since put my sim back in the old android phone and disabled RCS. Not sure whether that has worked. Suppose I’ll find out in eight days time.

So ive just put the sim card back into the S10 , installed Google Messages. Ive disabled RCS in the Samsung messages app and made sure it was disabled in Google Messages, which it was.

Do I now just wait it out?
