re: 16gb owc ram upgrade for 2010 mbp7,1

hey guys so i just read that lion 10.7.5+ is required to boot with the 16gb ram upgrade kit from owc..
does anyone here have one of these 2.4ghz mbp 2010 models with the OWC ram upgrade?

my question is.. will it allow u to boot in snow leopard with the kit installed? (10.6.. 10.6.8)


because its for a music computer and im running some older versions of software that i have licenses for..
and it really will defeat the purpose of me buying the ram upgrade.. if i cant boot snow leopard with it installed!!

if it will still boot and only show 8gb of ram in snow leopard.. then im good to go.. if it wont let me boot at all with the 16gb chips in... then i obviously cant buy the upgrade..

Let me start out by saying I have not done what you want to do.
If your referring to this OWC blog:

then it very clearly states OS 10.7.5 or greater as criteria. I would suggest contacting OWC tech support with your question, they are very helpful. Maybe they have an update since Dec. 2012.

yeah i guess im screwed.. i was hoping it would still be bootable but only show up as 8gb or something.. but still boot
but i guess ill have to forget abotu the 16gb ;(
