I just today opened up my msn and an e-mail had been sent to all of my contacts saying delivery fail and an attachment called re.eml. Why has this happened and do I have some sort of a virus or Trojan?

You don't have a virus or trojan. Someone hacked your email account. It had nothing to do with your computer. Change your email account password(s) to something complex, using upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

Macs are not immune to malware, but no true viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any since it was released 10 years ago. The only malware in the wild that can affect Mac OS X is a handful of trojans, which can be easily avoided with some basic education, common sense and care in what software you install. Also, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Lion have anti-malware protection built in, further reducing the need for 3rd party antivirus apps.

Someone hacked your account, change your password and contact MSN regarding the problem. Also start notifying your contacts what happen so they incase they didn't realize what was occurring they will.

Cheers

Bit strange though why did they try sending out e-Mails to all of my contacts?

That's the way spammers work. They hack your email account and send spam to all your contacts. Then they try to hack those accounts and do the same. It's commonplace.

Ah! So what do they want? Just my personal details and stuff like that?
