I just got a new macbook pro, and I want to wipe the hard drive on my old macbook so I can give it to a friend. The problem is I have lost the discs for the old macbook. Can I use the disc that came with the macbook pro to re-format the old macbook? The old one has an intel processor, and I have upgraded the OS to snow leopard so the current OS is the same as what the new one has. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

The grey discs are system specific so you cannot use them with your older MacBook. You said you upgraded to Snow Leopard so do you still have that disc?

I think I still have the snow leopard disc. I'm not sure, though.
