i have upgraded to lion from snow leopard, I had iLife on snow leopard (i think its pre installed on the mac from apple? ).

how do i get ilife back on the Mac? is it possible to even run '09 on Lion?

iLife will be on the restore DVD that shipped with your Mac. Stick that in the drive and run the "Install Optional Software" or similarly named installer

Find your system restore discs that came with the computer. There should be an option to restore applications.

If you lost your original discs, you might try contacting Apple about buying a new set.

As far as I know, iLife 09 works fine with Lion. Apple has even pushed updates to 09 with Lion-specific tweaks.
