Re-install Mac OS X Mountain Lion

I would like to purchase a macbook air before Mac OS X Mountain Lion is released. I know that it will come with Mac OS X Lion. Does anyone know if I were to want to do a "Re-install Mac OS X" through recovery if once I have Mac OS X Mountain Lion on the macbook air that it will re install Mountain Lion instead of Lion?
