Hi.

I've been having some problems with my Mac lately (occasional crashes, Mail not working, network problems, etc.) and Apple Support was unable to fix one of them (the Mail problem).

The support guy mentioned that it would probably help to re-install the OS and that makes sense because since I bought my MBPro I have downloaded/installed/changed a lot of applications or settings or whathaveyou.

But I'm wondering whether re-installing the whole OS and them all the programs and stuff I want to keep one by one would really be worth it or if there isn't a less drastic solution.
Is it really likely that all the software I added is causing this and is it worth it to re-install OS X? and if so how do I do that?

Thanks in advance guys!
