My HD failed and replaced it with another HD that I formatted for Mac OSX.

The reinstall cd for tiger and leopard can be booted from my computer but when I go to install the message" Mac OSX cannot be installed on this computer"

Can someone help me and tell me whats going on?

Are you sure they are the disks for that computer? That message normally means you are using the restore DVD from another machine.

As Robbie has stated, if you're getting that message, it usually means that you're using install discs from another computer. If you called AppleCare and they sent it to you, call them back and let them know of the error - it has happened before.
