Hello all,

I just purchased a Pismo G3 Powerbook (500 MHz; 640 MB RAM) that has OS 10.3.9. Recently I needed to use a program that requires Mac Classic OS, yet it unfortunately was not on the laptop (the program suggested that I could use 9.1 or later). I was wondering if there is another place in the 10.3.9 operating system to look for the classic program (I did not located it with Find), or if I simply have to purchase an official copy of 9.1 (if so I would choose 9.2.2)? If I do have to buy a copy of 9.2.2 is it leagal to buy it though eBay since I do not see it sold through Apple anymore?

Thanks! I appreciate the help!

Respectfully,

Sam

Panther comes with Classic, but not OS 9, which you'll need to actually use Classic. Any retail version of OS 9 should work. You can install it normally, and then update it to OS 9.2.2 with downloadable updaters from Apple's site. If you can boot into OS 9, it'll work in Classic in OS X.
