Dear All,

On two Apple Pismos (one a 400 MHz and one a 500 MHz model) I have been unable to get the DVD/CD drive to open CD's that is used for both Windows and Macintosh OS PC's. For the Mac requirement the CD's ask for OS X 10.2.8 or later (with 256 MB RAM suggested), and the second disk asks for PowerPC with OS X (and 64 MB RAM). Except for the second disk asking for PowerPC, is there any reason why both of these disks fail to work on two different Pismos? I do not see this as a CD drive failure as it is similar in both Pismos (although the 400 MHz unit did mount the second disk once), thus is it just how the Pismo works? Is there a way to guage what CD's will work?

Also, I did get my Microsoft Office 2004 CD to work fine, thus I was able to load these programs to the 500 MHz Pismo with no problem.

Finally, I noticed on the 500 MHz unit that, interestingly enough, the DVD would play Two Towers and return of the King movies, but not Fellowship of the Rings. Odd, yes?

Thanks all. I greatly appreciate any insight into the CD enigma.

Always,

Sam
