Just reacquired a Pismo Powerbook 500mhz. It only has 128mb "currently". I do love the design of this laptop though its amazing. Gonna see if I can find more ram for it and perhaps get a bigger/faster HD (only has a <20gb drive in it) Currently doing a clean reinstall of OS 9. I need to see if I still have any of my old OS 9 software.

No clue what I am gonna do with this thing but at least it will be fun to play with for nostalgic sake. The system is in near perfect condition and the battery is surprisingly still strong.

I just sold my Pismo on eBay and bought a 15" TiBook 867MHz. It was the last PowerBook (the 1GHz varient too) that booted OS 9 and also runs 10.5.8.

I had 512MB RAM in my Pismo and upgraded the original 6GB drive to 20. I partitioned it and ran Tiger and OS 9 on it. I went a bit retro a bought a whole bunch of software from eBay. Got 9.0.4, Office 98, Corel Draw 8, Virtual PC 4 and Photoshop 7.

Upgrade the RAM and put an airport card in it. The only problem with Tiger is the lack of web browsers. Safari 3 (?) is OK but not the best.

Enjoy it!

that's all I need to do. Was thinking though if I can find the extra cash to get a bigger hard drive too. The airport and ram are the big things though.
