iPod touch Read ICS in Mail for touch

I got a message with an ICS document from my boss (for a reunion) the Mail application on the iPod touch was not able to read it or do anything with it.

I was only able to see it when I got to my computer or if I would check messages using Safari/ yahoo

Is there a way to handle ICS (you know files for agendas?)
