I got iPhone 14 Pro I was thinking of swapping with 14 Pro Max for reading and PDF files.
PDF books, PDF magazines etc.
Is Pro Max better for reading iBooks, kindle, PDF and iBooks?

Bigger screen makes reading easier. I read a bunch on my PM its fine for it. I black the background out, helps a lot with eye strain.

It will never equal an e ink device. Then again an e-ink device does nothing else but reading. The difference isn't great enough for me to care and carry another device.

It's bigger, which results in a bigger display and battery. Other than that they're identical. If you feel that you're reading would be more pleasant with a slightly larger screen, then yes, it would be better. Otherwise something like an iPad mini is pretty nice for reading in my opinion.
