Reading my Time Machine backup in Windows

I murdered my computer, but luckily everything is neatly backed up in time machine. Unluckily, I didn't think the back up process through, and forgot the whole point of it. There are no other apples in the house, I don't have the money to get a new one right now, but I'm getting an Ipod touch to temporarily hold me over. I need access to my old files, but Windows isn't recognizing my HDD with the backup. How can I get windows to read it, without losing all the data on it?
