Reading new free iBooks under OSX

Just downloaded free Life on Earth iBook.

If anyone has advice on how can I read this in Lion I'd be grateful.

You can't. iBooks is for iOS, not OS X.

Apple has yet to release iBooks for OSX. Its only available for iOS.

I wonder if it could be read through the preview mode of iBooks Author. It's a free download.

Preview Mode works by sending the book to iBooks on an iPad, so that would not work.
