Hey all,
I'm having issues with my iPhone 6, currently running iOS 10.2.1. I previously wrote a post that didn't get much attention detailing the problem for those of you who may be curious.
I think I'm on my way to figuring out how to fix things, however I'm still in need of some guidance. I can access the SMS database included as part of my backup, but the backup does not contain any of the missing messages (the phone automatically backed up to iCloud after I lost my previous messages).
I'm still able to search for content and get the missing messages to display in my search results, which means they must be on my phone somewhere. Is there any way to access the SMS database of an iPhone that isn't jailbroken directly rather than trying to work with backups? Could a corrupted database prevent the missing messages from backing up even if they still exist on the phone's hard drive?
If anyone has any insight, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not excited about the prospect of losing almost eight years of message history.
Thanks!
