Hi all,
I'm hoping to buy a second hand G5 soon and have read up on the chirping issue. I hear the issue effects all G5 revisions, I'm wondering if it effects some revisions more than others.

Also - would it effect single processor G5's?

Finally, is the 5200 Nvidia card substantially better than the FX 5200 Go ? and would I be able to play games such as Colin Mcrae Rally at 1280x1024 (on low settings)?

Merry Christmas!

Something to watch out for is the liquid cooling system used on the 2.5Ghz and faster GS setup. If the system develops a leak, ita all over in seconds. Literally. If you want to buy a G5 Powermac, get the 2.3 Ghz or below since they don't use the liquid system.

Of coarse, a G5 + faulty liquid cooling + Applecare could = a new MP.

really important to have that applecare and even then id say you were a lucky chap to come up on a MP that way ;)
