I there a program that can convert real audio files into mp3's?

I am aware of the Audio Hijack method but as you know that is slow and you have to stream it to audio hijack. I am after a standalone program that can do the job...

Suggestions anyone?

Audio Hijack is the only way I know of doing it, I've seen an app for Windows which does it, but it works the same way as Audio Hijack. The old RealJukebox app could do it a lot quicker, but I have no idea whether it was available for Mac (I only switched to Mac a couple of years ago, after RealJukebox had already been superseded by RealOne).

A quick Google turned up this page. Unfortunately, the piece of Mac software that can do the job (BarbaBatch) is rather expensive (US$ 395).

Cleaner might work too, but it's also pretty expensive. Best thing to do is a search on VersionTracker, but I don't blame you for wanting to come here first to ask if we knew of anything.
