Thats my experience with my unibody 13" MBP :)

It be better if people posted what year MBP they have too as my 2010 MBP 13" may not be the same as the previous year (I know one of their big claims was the 10 hour battery life).

So anyways, 2010 MBP 13" - 7.5 hours, half brightness (maybe a little less), moderate-heavy safari use, word, backlit keyboard (at lowest setting, I just like how it looks better, not that I need it), terminal running. Sometimes let sit enough to have power saver go on though so it's not constantly running (though it mostly is).

i7 here...

I think it's more meaningful to state actual time on battery. I use MiniBatteryLogger for that. And I get a log of my daily use, very useful.

1) 17" mid-2010 MBP (peek@signature)
2) 2.8GHz
3) These are conservative numbers...

Mostly web: about 7-8.5hrs*; Moderate use: web, photoshop, iphoto, aperture, html coding, python, terminal--not all running at once, open/close: about 6-7hrs*; Heavy use same as moderate but with external Seagate 500GB 7200 drive attached: 4.5-5.5 hrs*.

*flash is off, backlight keyboard light is off, BT & wifi off, brightness: one bar except when proofing photos for short intervals: 8bars
