Real media downloads playing vlc

Dear members, I downloaded a vid from youtube w/realplayer downloader. When I clicked play on the downloader window, it played back in realplayer. When I cleared the downloads list realdownloader window, then went into movies/realplayerdownloads where the files are, I noticed a icon called vlc blank! Sp I double clicked on it and the clip plays in vlc! This happens to all of my realplayer downloads, Why? Can someone help?

If you want a file to open in RealPlayer, select it in Finder, go to File > Get Info, and under "Open with:" choose RealPlayer. You can click Change All if you that behaviour to be used for all files of that type.
