hey i used to use real player and it works perfectly. but ever since i reformatted my computer, the same files that i used to play on it doesn't play anymore. it opens the file and says that it is playing but there is only a white screen that shows... no sound either.. any suggestions??

Why did you reformat your machine? Did you reinstall RealPlayer from the internet, or was it an Archive & Install? :)

i reformatted it cuz i had limewire and stuff and it messed up my computer. i installed realplayer using the one from the internet

Since you reformatted your computer, and the files aren't playing now, my best guess is that the files require an additional codec. Probably flip4mac, or a divx/xvid codec is needed.

Try getting Perian, as that has practically every codec (including DivX/XVid), you will also need Flip4Mac though.
