Real-Time preview on laptop while shooting?

I was wondering if there is a program/setup that would allow me to take studio shots and use my laptop to display the preview that you normally would get on the camera. Has anyone heard about or used this setup for studio work?

Absolutely! You'll want to search for "tethered shooting", and most serious photo applications will support it (though you'll need to check that you're camera is supported).

The client sits on the sofa looking at the pics as they appear, and I actually let them decide when 'we have it'.
