Hi everyone, I'm willing to get the 27" ACD but have a GTX480. Two options are offered to me: upgrade to an HD5970 compatible with the MDP, or simply buy an atlona DP400 box.

I couldn't find any reliable review on the web (the ones linked by Atlona seem to generic to be some thorough reviews). Have actual users of the DP-200 or 400 series seen some input display? Some freezes in high-FPS sequences? Some eventual quality loss?

I guess the graphic cards swapping option is the best but it would be more expensive...

thanks for your help :D

Atlona at-dp400 + 27" LED + MacBook Pro

I have an early 2008 17" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro4,1) with dual-link DVI connected to an Atlona AT-DP400 DVI to miniDisplay Port adapter, connected to a 27" LED Cinema Display.

All is working great, except the maximum resolution for the display is 2240x1260. The MacBookPro has a GeForce 8600M GT, and is running the laptop display at 1920x1200.

The speakers and camera work independently of the Atlona adapter, just connect the USB from the display to your computer.

Any ideas on how to increase the available resolution to the display's native of 2560x1440?

Having finally gotten my hands on 10.6, and after upgrading, upon first plug-in the 27" is working at 2560x1440 through the atlona at-400 adapter.

I still don't know why the 27" requires 10.6, as the 30" could be run at 2560x1600, but such are life's mysteries.
